Bernd Ogrodnik, the artistic director and co-founder of the Centre for Puppet Arts, is one of the world’s greatest puppeteers. The Centre, which is based in the small town of Borgarnes, is a magic world for all generations and a great addition to the existing cultural tourism available in the area.

Bernd’s puppets are the main attraction of the Centre and in its collection one finds many of the familiar characters from performances in the Icelandic National Theatre, the Reykjavik City Theatre and the Akureyri Theatre Company.

The Aurora Foundation’s grant supported the design and the building of the Centre.
