Solar energy at the pottery centre!

01.07.20

Some people might know that Aurora’s office has been equipped with a large solar grid from Easy Solar, but did you know that we also work with Easy Solar to power the Lettie Stuart Pottery Centre in Waterloo?

Due to the fact that Waterloo is not part of the national grid, it was necessary to use a generator and diesel to use the necessary machines. However, this was not a sustainable solution. Therefore, we decided to use clean energy and install a solar grid on the roof, which makes it possible to have lights in the centre 24/7! Even during dark days in the rainy season, the centre is powered with lights and enough energy is left to use machinery and other equipment, such as a computer and a fridge. Using this form of clean energy has definitely improved the working environment for everyone working at the centre.
