23.12.22

The ICT Training for Beginners was a series of training sessions organized in collaboration with Girls Empowerment Sierra Leone (GESL) for 40 secondary school girls. The training aimed to provide basic knowledge and skills in information and communication technology (ICT) to empower the participants and enhance their digital literacy. The training consisted of two sessions per day, one group of students in the morning and one group in the afternoon. The curriculum covered various fundamental topics in ICT, including computer basics, internet usage, email communication and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The objective of the training was to equip the girls with essential ICT skills that would be beneficial for their academic pursuits, future career opportunities, and overall empowerment. By enhancing their digital literacy, the training aimed to bridge the gender gap in the tech industry and encourage more girls to pursue ICT-related fields.
