Eighteen participants took part in a two-day Advanced Street Documentary and Photography Workshop at Aurora House on 19 and 20 October, organised by Street Salone Gallery and sponsored by Aurora Foundation.

The workshop brought together journalists, photographers, and communications professionals for practical learning focused on strengthening photography skills and developing a deeper understanding of ethical documentary practice.

Led by James Tamba-Martha, with guest facilitators Tolu Jethro Bade and Hickmatu Leigh, the workshop explored documentary photography, street photography, and ethical storytelling. Participants also took part in a street photo walk for a practical photography exercise and reviewed their photos at the end.

Beyond technical skills, the workshop highlighted the importance of telling stories with care, responsibility, and respect for the people and communities being documented. Participants left with renewed confidence, stronger camera skills, and a deeper appreciation for ethical storytelling.

Aurora Foundation is proud to sponsor initiatives that support creatives and create opportunities for learning and growth. Through its support of this workshop, the Foundation continues to encourage creative development and the use of visual storytelling to tell powerful stories through the lens.
