We are thrilled to spotlight the inspiring success of Maame Asieduah-Foday, whose journey with Malin Limited highlights the profound impact of the UNDP Growth Accelerator Programme. As a standout participant in this transformative initiative, Maame’s story is a testament to the power of strategic support and comprehensive training.

Malin Limited, Maame’s agri-business focused on rice production, has experienced remarkable growth thanks to the Growth Accelerator Programme. The support provided through this programme is structured in four crucial tranches. Maame has already received two of these tranches. The first tranche enabled her to acquire a certified rice seed variety, which has significantly improved both the quality and yield of her rice. The second tranche facilitated the acquisition of essential equipment, including a rice thresher machine, rice dryers, and a tool kit for machine maintenance, greatly enhancing her production capabilities.

Looking ahead, Maame is waiting to receive the third tranche, which will support staff training. This upcoming phase is expected to further strengthen her team’s expertise and operational efficiency, ensuring continued growth and success.

Maame’s accomplishments are further amplified by the series of specialized trainings and bootcamps provided by Aurora Foundation. These programs have played a crucial role in her development. She has received training in goal setting and growth plan development, which has equipped her with the skills to strategically plan and expand her business. Additionally, advisory support and follow-up on tranche disbursement have ensured that the resources are utilized effectively. Financial literacy training has improved her financial management capabilities, while a marketing bootcamp has enhanced her ability to reach new markets and boost her business visibility.

The Growth Accelerator Programme has been pivotal in advancing Malin Limited’s operations. Under Maame’s leadership, the company now employs 500 out-growers and has successfully harvested 200 hectares of rice this year. Furthermore, Malin Limited has secured a significant contract with the World Food Program (WFP), marking a major achievement in its expansion efforts.

Maame Asieduah-Foday’s journey is a shining example of how targeted support and training can drive substantial growth and success. Aurora Foundation remains dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs like Maame, fostering sustainable development and economic progress in Sierra Leone.
