Six artists and bands received the 2024 Kraumur Music Awards

The Kraumur Music Award was awarded for the seventeenth time last night for the Icelandic records that stand out in terms of quality, ambition and originality. 

The Kraumur Music Award is an annual album award that has been awarded since 2008. It is intended to promote and support the release of albums by Icelandic artists and bands. The awards are not tied to a specific music genre and there are no subcategories. A total of over 90 artists and bands have now received the Kraumur Music Awards for their albums, most of them early in their careers. 

This year it’s Amor Vincit Omnia, Iðunn Einars, sideproject, Sigrún, Sunna Margrét and Supersport! who receive the Kraumur Music Award for their albums, which are considered to excel in terms of quality, ambition and originality.  

The Kraumur Music Award 2024:

  • Iðunn Einars for Í hennar heimi 
  • sideproject for sourcepond 
  • Sigrún for Monster Milk 
  • Sunna Margrét for Finger on Tongue 
  • Supersport! for Allt sem hefur gerst 

The award was chosen by a twelve-member jury made up of people with a wide range of experience in discussing, playing and working with Icelandic music in the media and on other platforms. The jury consists of: Árni Matthíasson, chairman of the jury, Arnar Eggert Thoroddsen, Birgitta Björg Guðmarsdóttir, Eldar Ástþórsson, Júlía Kröyer, Karólína Einars Mariúdóttir, Lovísa Rut Kristjánsdóttir, Óli Dóri, Rósa Birgitta Ísfeld, Trausti Júlíusson, Vaka Orradóttir and Þorbjörg Roach Gunnarsdóttir.
