The Aurora Foundation is pleased to report the successful completion of a two-day Entrepreneurship Development Training held on December 4th and 5th, 2024, at the Bandama Kenema Recreational Center, located along 24 BO-Kenema Highway. This dynamic event was facilitated in collaboration with Ibrahim Papanie Mboma, CEO of Mamawa Mugengay Agribusiness Enterprise, and a proud graduate of Aurora’s Investment Readiness Bootcamp.

The training brought together 47 diverse entrepreneurs of which 56% female participants, eager to sharpen their skills and grow their businesses. Participants engaged in an interactive and vibrant series of group discussions, exercises, and presentations that fostered a collaborative learning environment.

Throughout the two days, the training focused on crucial aspects of entrepreneurship, including how to identify and solve problems, develop viable business ideas, and conduct comprehensive market research. Participants also learned essential strategies for targeting the right markets, testing business ideas, and navigating the complexities of business setup and operations

Key sessions covered vital topics such as:

  • Business Idea Development: How to generate, refine, and validate a business idea.
  • Market Research: Understanding your market, identifying target customers, and gathering critical data.
  • Business Operations and Planning: Building a solid foundation for running and scaling a business, from resource planning to operational management.
  • Pricing and Strategic Partnerships: Identifying pricing strategies and developing valuable business alliances.
  • Regulatory Requirements: Understanding the necessary legal and statutory obligations for setting up a successful business.

The training also featured a wealth of resources, including case studies, tools for business testing, and templates to guide participants in launching and sustaining their ventures. The group work exercises allowed participants to apply concepts in real-time, enhancing their learning experience.

We are proud to see the tremendous enthusiasm and commitment from all involved and excited to continue supporting these emerging entrepreneurs in their journey toward business success. This training marks another important step in our mission to foster entrepreneurial growth and innovation across Sierra Leone.
