From May 12th to 23rd, 2025, Aurora Foundation proudly hosted an engaging and eye-opening Artificial Intelligence Training at our office in Freetown. The training brought together 23 participants, including students, professionals, and business owners—all eager to understand and harness the power of AI.
What made this training particularly special was the facilitator: Chernor Issa Jalloh, a past participant of Cohort 5 from our Startup Accelerator and Investment Readiness Program. Chernor stands as the CEO & Founder of CIJ Digital Hub and Logistics, and we were honored to welcome him back not as a participant, but as a vendor and expert trainer.
Over the course of two weeks, participants explored key areas of AI, including: Prompt Engineering, AI Laws and Ethics, and Responsible Use of AI Tools.
Participants were engaged in interactive, hands-on sessions, designed to give them practical skills they can now apply in school, work, or business. At the end of the training, 17 participants graduated and were awarded certificates of completion ready to apply AI tools in their respective field
Aurora Foundation remains committed to empowering local talent and promoting innovation in Sierra Leone. As we continue to invest in technology and entrepreneurship, stories like Chernor’s remind us of the lasting impact of our work.
