Amplifying Women’s Voices: Aurora Foundation Proudly Sponsors Female Voices in Poetry Slam Vol. 2

15.07.26

Aurora Foundation was thrilled to sponsor volume two of the Female Voices in Poetry Slam, organised by Futprints Afrika on 23 May 2026. Bringing together talented young Sierra Leonean women poets, the event celebrated creativity, courage, and self-expression through the power of spoken word.

The competition provided a vibrant platform for women to share their original poetry, inspiring audiences with performances that reflected their unique perspectives, experiences, and voices. Through poetry, participants demonstrated the power of storytelling to connect, challenge, and inspire.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Hassanatu Jalloh, who emerged as the overall winner, Shirley Williams, the first runner-up, and the group Blossom Poetry Club, the second runner-up. We also celebrate every contestant who stepped onto the stage with confidence and purpose, contributing to an event that honoured the creativity and talent of women.

Aurora Foundation is proud to support initiatives that create opportunities for women to express themselves, develop their talents, and be heard. Platforms like Female Voices in Poetry Slam remind us that creativity is a powerful force for building confidence, inspiring dialogue, and strengthening communities.

We congratulate Futprints Afrika on another successful edition and look forward to seeing the continued growth of this inspiring platform as it prepares for Volume 3.
