Sweet Salone – Impact Assessment 2024

01.07.25

We are excited to present the impact assessment of Sweet Salone for the year 2024. This year marks a continued step forward in our mission to empower local artisans and foster sustainable design practices in Sierra Leone.

Sweet Salone experienced two key areas of progress in 2024: a 25% increase in overall production compared to 2023, and the strengthening of our artisan community through long-standing partnerships and inclusive collaboration. This growth reflects our ongoing commitment to both creative excellence and economic empowerment.

A total of 21,767 products were made by Sweet Salone artisans this year, demonstrating the growing demand for handcrafted Sierra Leonean goods and the capacity of our artisan groups to consistently deliver high-quality work. Our production network currently includes 56 artisans, with 44% identifying as women, and 56% of all artisans having worked with us for over five years—a testament to the sustained relationships at the heart of this collaboration.

The consistent expansion in production and the dedication of our artisan partners underscores the strength of Sweet Salone as a platform for long-term livelihood development, cultural celebration, and meaningful creative exchange.
