ICT Intermediate Training for GESL Girls Concludes Successfully

22.08.25

We are pleased to share that the ICT Intermediate Training for girls from the Girls Empowerment Sierra Leone (GESL) program has successfully concluded. The training, which took place from August 4 to August 15, 2025, marks another important step in our ongoing collaboration to empower young women through education and digital literacy.

Building on the success of the beginner-level course held earlier this year, this intermediate training was designed to deepen participants’ skills in key Microsoft Office applications—Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The training aimed to equip participants with more advanced computer literacy and practical knowledge essential for both professional environments and personal development.

To accommodate all participants effectively, the program was divided into two groups: a morning session and an afternoon session.

  • 50 participants enrolled

  • 47 girls completed the full training program

  • 41 girls successfully passed the final assessment and received certificates of completion

The training sessions combined interactive lessons with hands-on practice, helping participants strengthen their understanding of document formatting, spreadsheet management, data analysis, and presentation design. By the end of the course, many of the participants demonstrated notable growth in their confidence and competence using these essential tools.

A graduation ceremony was held on August 15, celebrating the hard work and achievements of all who participated. Certificates were awarded to those who successfully passed the final exams, with facilitators and community leaders present to commend the girls’ efforts.

This training represents a meaningful contribution to the long-term vision of empowering girls through technology and education. Aurora Foundation remains committed to supporting initiatives that provide young women with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.

We extend our congratulations to all the graduates and thank our partners at GESL for their continued collaboration.
