Equipped to Elevate: Women Creators Summit at Aurora House

26.04.25

On April 25, 2025, Aurora House in Freetown became a vibrant hub of creativity and collaboration as over 30 young women leaders gathered for the inaugural Equipped to Elevate Women Creators Summit. Held at 35 Fraser Street on Pipeline Road, this one-day summit brought together business owners, influencers, and media professionals for a transformative experience.

The day commenced with Creators Connect, an icebreaker session designed to foster connections and set the tone for the day. Participants then moved to the Vision Room, where the founders shared the inspiration behind Equipped to Elevate, emphasizing the importance of empowering women in the digital space.

A curated lunch provided an opportunity for attendees to network and exchange ideas, setting the stage for the hands-on sessions that followed. These sessions were crafted to spark new ideas, encourage collaborations, and provide clarity on navigating the evolving digital landscape.

The afternoon featured a breakout session led by seasoned creatives, focusing on Navigating Change with Grace and Intention. This segment offered practical insights and strategies for adapting to the ever-changing media environment while maintaining authenticity and purpose.

The summit concluded with a powerful session titled Stories that Stick: Mastering the Art of Impactful Storytelling. Participants delved into the nuances of crafting compelling narratives that resonate with audiences, leaving a lasting impact. Adding a touch of glamour to the event, Miss Sierra Leone joined the participants for a brief Q&A session, sharing her journey and engaging with the local media outlets present.

The Equipped to Elevate workshop exemplifies Aurora Foundation’s commitment to nurturing creativity and fostering collaboration among women in Sierra Leone’s media and digital sectors. By providing a platform for learning, networking, and growth, Aurora House continues to serve as a catalyst for positive change and empowerment in the community.
